Hello Dolly Has Cast Members From Lovilia

Filed under: Uncategorized — Susan Beary @ 7:47 pm

Albia high school drama dept. presented performances of “Hello, Dolly” Nov. 9, 10, and 11th at the King Opera House in Albia.  Attending the matinee on Sunday, I was pleased with the quality of the singing, dancing and acting for these still young performers.

Some of the actors are Lovilia young men and women or have roots here.  I will try to name them all. Forgive me if I miss someone, or email and tell me and I will then add them.

Mrs. Dolly Levi, the leading singer/actress role, was played by Savannah Stalzer. Her parents are Brad and Mindy Stalzer. Her local grandparents are Joe and Kathy Welsh. Savannah looked smashing in all the elaborate costumes and sang and performed so well.

Allison Hugen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Hugen, played Minnie Fay.  Brent grew up in Lovilia.

Nika Spaur, played Irene Malloy, a large supporting role. Her performance was smooth and she sang so well. Tiffany Spaur of Lovilia is her mother. Barb Spaur her grandmother.

CalebToopes was cast as 1st chef. Caleb is the son of Jim Toopes of Lovilia.

Valerie Beary, portraying court clerk, Mrs. Rose, is the daughter of Pat and AJ Beary. Lovilia grandparents are Jim and Shirley Beary.

Makenna Ross was in the townspeople. She is daughter of Kenny and Anna Ross formerly of Lovilia.

Alyssa Burk, daughter of Lovilian, Bill Burk, was cast as a townsperson too.

The lighting tech on spotlight two was Stephanie Beary. She is the daughter of Pat and AJ Beary and granddaughter of Jim and Shirley Beary.

Members of the cast who are in the senior class are Allison Hugen, Nika Spaur, and Valerie Beary. They were honored by the drama coaches.

They young people put in many days of practices and it showed.  It is a joy to see their talents beyond academic or the sports field.  They showed that drama, music, and dance is alive and well!
